The Leftovers
This ongoing project draws inspiration from the concept of ”The Leftovers” – a term used for individuals who do not fit into society's rigid timelines or expected norms.
The works are constructed from bookbinding materials typically deemed useless and discarded: remnants of fine art papers such as Baohong, Fabriano, and various types of mulberry paper, alongside paper scraps and failed, rejected prints from my studio. The process is characterized by an uncompromising honesty; no imperfections, flaws, or irregularities are concealed or polished away.
The works serve as a direct visual commentary on human worth and marginalization. They investigate how that which deviates from the expected norm carries its own distinct complexity, proving that what society filters out often possesses a magnificent, intrinsic, and vital resilience.
