Madlén Palm (b. 1958) is a Swedish visual artist and bookmaker based in Gothenburg. Her practice treats the photobook not as a passive container for images, but as an active, physical space of authorship where visual language unfolds on its own terms.

Palm’s practice is deeply rooted in materiality and time-intensive craftsmanship. She integrates traditional East Asian papermaking techniques—such as hand-kneading paper and treating fibres with organic starches—with contemporary digital printmaking to create tactile, sensory book objects. She has refined her approach through international workshops with Magnum Photos and specialized artist book-making programs in Berlin.
